I wash it regularly but I've never done anything beyond that, no wax, no polish, nothing, so I'm guessing years of sun have just taken their toll. A neighbour reckons it's oxidation sitting on top of the clear coat and a proper machine polish would bring the white back, but I'm worried that if it's actually clear coat failure then polishing would just make things worse or strip what's left. I came across Leading BMW detailing in Khalifa City while searching around and now I'm weighing up whether to get a professional opinion before I touch it myself or just try a small test patch with a compound I have in the garage. The thing is I don't want to spend money on correction if the paint is already past saving, but I also don't want to repaint a whole car if a polish would have sorted it. How do you actually tell the difference between oxidation and failing clear coat? Any telltale signs I should look for before deciding?
